The Balm - Lip Balm

Updated: Apr 29, 2022

Homemade Lip Balm with SAFE ingredients. I was happy with some of the products that were available at our natural food stores or online. BUT, I knew I wanted something safer and with ingredients I could understand and feel safe applying to my daughter and those that I love.

Have you ever wondered what it means when it says fragrance or other ingredients but they don't say what "they are"? It drives me a little crazy! So, this is how I got started with DIY homemade lip balms and they also make a great gift, too.

I use all organic ingredients whenever possible.

Ingredients -

  • 4 tbsp Coconut Oil

  • 3 tbsp Beeswax

  • 2 drops Vitamin E oil

  • 7 drops Peppermint essential oil (Young Living)

  • 7 drops Lemon essential oil (Young Living)

With added Sun protection benefits

Ingredients -

  • 4 tbsp Coconut Oil

  • 3 tbsp Beeswax

  • 2 drops Vitamin E oil

  • 7 drops Peppermint essential oil (Young Living)

  • 7 drops Lemon essential oil (Young Living)

  • 1 tbsp Zinc Oxide (Sun Protection)

Directions:

  1. In a small pot over medium-low heat. Melt the beeswax, coconut oil, and vitamin E stirring frequently in the small pot. Use a chopstick or similar long narrow stick.

  2. Remove the pot from the heat and add essential oils. Whisk well to be sure to distribute the oils throughout mixture.

  3. Pour the mixture quickly into the lip balm tins or container. Let the lip balm cool until mixture hardens and then enjoy!

Tip: Be sure to add essential oils to the mixture once it has cooled down for best results.

If you get a chance to make this please share your modifications or creative ways that your lip balm came out. Visit me at my IG page tiinas_table.
